Spaces are given out in the order the requests are received and when association assessments and boat fees are paid in full, once assessment bills have been mailed and as spaces are available. Previously assigned spaces take precedence if full assessments and boat fees are paid in full by the due date of May 1, 2019. Members must comply with all HLA covenants and bylaws. Boat slips are a privilege and may be revoked for non-compliance. Members currently on the waiting list will be assigned slips once all renewals are assigned. Your 2019 HLA assessment must be paid, and your wait list deposit will be applied as your boat fee.

Boat Slip Policies and Procedures 2020 For HLA Members
- Boat slip renewals are tied to the assessment and due date, currently May 1 of each year
- All renewal requests are granted if assessment & $50 boat fee are paid in full by the due date.
- Requests to change to a different slip will be granted if the new slip is available, and if assessment is paid in full by the due date.
- New boat slip requests
- Are granted if assessment & $50 boat fee are paid in full by the due date, if slips ae available.
- Owner must be a member in good standing.
- Only 1 boat slip per assessment paid will be assigned.

- Waiting List
- Waiting list is on first-come first-serve basis to members.
- All assessments must be current.
- You must pay the $50 boat fee deposit to be on the waiting list.
- The deposit will be carried over to the next year until a slip becomes available, the deposit will then be applied to the annual boat fee.
- The deposit will be returned if the member is removed from the waiting list.
- Transfers
- A slip is assigned to the member and a specific boat registration. If you wish to use your slip for a different boat, you must notify the association and update the records.
- A slip with not transfer with the sale of the lot, the day of the property transfers the slip will be release back to HLA to be assigned to the next member on the waiting list.
- The boat fee will be returned if your property is sold prior to September 1.
- Non-Members
- Slips are not available to someone who is not an HLA member.
- Additional Boat Slip Requests
- If a member requests an additional slip beyond the number of assessments they pay, the request may be granted at the start of the season if a slip is available and there are no members on the waiting list. Since this slip is not associated with an assessment, this slip will not be automatically renewed the following year.
- Members must comply with all HLA covenants and bylaws where applicable. Boat slips are a privilege and may be revoked for non-compliance.
- These policies and procedures may be changed by the waterfront director and approved by the board.
- Members may provide and maintain a platform at the shore slips, no pressure treated lumber should ever be in or over the water. All platforms should be on shore, and not in the lake.
- HLA Liability
- The use of HLA boat slips, shore slips and kayak / canoe racks are AT YOUR OWN RISK. HLA assumes no responsibly for loss or damage.
